TUX
Tux is a 1/12 - 2 year old male Great Dane. He is black with white markings on his chest. Tux is a petite boy, but he is all Dane - as sweet as can be. When he was a baby, Tux was given to an owner who did not want him. The owner kept him chained and beat him around the head with a chain and burned him with cigarettes. His owner was talked into giving him to a couple who found him another home. However, the new owners moved a few months after taking Tux, and returned him to the couple who had taken him in. He was placed with another family, who moved to an apartment and again, he was returned to the couple who had taken him in. They then turned him in to rescue. Tux, the "disposable Dane" came into rescue emaciated, full of hook worms and low heartworm positive. He was very fearful of everything, but has responded quickly to love, kindness, deworming and food. He is a VERY sweet boy, very loving and learning to trust more quickly than anyone would expect him to do. He gets along with all the dogs and cats in the rescue, and has warmed up to all the people he's met, if given a slow introduction. He is currently on heartgard for his heartworms, and if he doesn't test negative on his retest, will be treated for heartworms. He will be neutered before placement. This boy is so full of love and kindness. He is so truly deserving of his own FOREVER home. Could that home be yours?

UPDATE NOV. 12, 2006: Since he has been here at rescue, Tux has grown in many ways. He is much less fearful of people now and very playful and loving. Given proper nutrition, and the fact that he was only two when he arrived, Tux has grown and is now no longer a teacup Dane. What a beautiful boy he is!!

Tux has gone to live with his new Mom, Patricia, and his new Dane sister, Lulu, in Georgia.  We hear he is doing very well.
